Characteristics

We manufacture the wicks from Kevlar/Aramid using integrated brass wire.
Unlike conventional products our wicks are not simply woven, but are manufactured using a special and innovative combination of knitted stitching.
A particular advantage of both this new manufacturing method and the integrated brass wire is the much better protection of the edges of the wick which are under great strain. This is especially significant when they get into contact with a hard surface, such as concrete, while juggling.
The nerve-racking problem of fraying edges, caused by the coming apart of the integrated warp threads, is finally a thing of hte past.

On the left hand side you see one of our wicks, on the rigth hand side a conventional one-both used for the same period of time.

The textile construction of our wicks has been gone over completely as comparted to the previous ones (up to september 2003) and the quality has been improved upon considerably.
- material was strengthened
- little dripping
- high absorbtion
- very closely woven
- greater duration of burning, better flame
- very good durability

Whether for juggling torches, devilsticks, swinging torches or firepoi, we can deliver the perfect width to suit your needs. We can supply eight different sizes which you will find listed in detail in our orderform. Look for measurements there.
The material (Aramid) is of yellow colour. The occurrence of discolouration when exposed to UV-radiation is normal and doesn´t represent any defect.

Instruction for use:
Only saturate the wicks using paraffin or other specialised torch-fluid that you get in special shops. Never use methylated spirits, petrol etc.!
After the wicks have been immersed in the paraffin they must be swung vigorously until the excess paraffin has been removed. Make sure to take suitable precautions to protect your eyes ant the surroundings. The plants will be grateful.
To prevent the material from wearing out too quickly, make sure that the wicks never completely burn down.
